A veteran of golf design throughout the world, Tim has been a mainstay at some of the world’s best courses for over three decades. He entered the golf design business in 1995, and three years later joined European Golf Design. Over his six years with the firm, Tim throughout the world, including Ireland, Turkey, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Wales and the Czech Republic.

Following his time with EGD, starting in 2004, Tim worked as part of the firm Thomson, Perrett and Lobb. In 2016, when golf legend Peter Thomson retired from the business, Tim formed Lobb + Partners with the goal of bringing a cooperative and international approach to golf design.

The firm now includes partners throughout the world, and Tim has led designs in international markets, including Nigeria, Egypt, the United Kingdom, and Asia, while also establishing offices in Canada, Korea and Spain. Tim has also worked on several of the most noted historic courses in the U.K., including Woking, St. George’s Hill, The Berkshire and Wimbledon Park GC. A Past President of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects, he is also a member of the Society of Australian Golf Course Architects and American Society of Golf Course Architects.

Involved with golf design for nearly two decades, Alex entered the business as a Design Associate with European Golf Design with a specialty in CAD. His experience includes working on large golf and residential developments throughout Europe and the Middle East, as well as working closely with the European Tour, including the Ryder Cup bids of Paris and Rome.

Having studied with the European Institute of Golf Course Architecture, Alex has a deep passion for the game, its history, and the design and construction techniques that make a course a success.

Alex joined Lobb + Partners in 2018, and helps lead North American operations from his home in Whistler, British Columbia on Canada’s West Coast. He is currently a member of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects and the American Society of Golf Course Architects.

Holding a doctorate in architecture and urban planning, Dr. Carballo is a graduate with distinction from the European Institute of Golf Course Architects. Having attended the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to study architecture with a focus on landscape design, his passion for golf led him to work in the sport. Dr. Carballo is fluent in English, Italian and Spanish.

MEIGCA

With a background in landscape architecture, Gareth is a versatile golf course architect with more than twenty years international experience in collaborative golf course planning, design and project management. He has worked on projects in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

An architect at Faldo Design for 18 years and a graduate of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects’ education programme, Gareth is passionate about golf’s history, its courses and landscapes. His varied project experience has informed his approach to course design that balances traditional golf architecture with sustainable design practice, the demands of a changing golf market and modern golf development. He advocates strongly for developing alternative forms of the game, including shorter facilities and formats that make golf more accessible.

Gareth supports the L+P design team across its varied project portfolio.

Niall is a scratch golfer who has been working as a golf course architect continuously since graduating with an MSc in Golf Course Architecture in 2003. Since then he has worked on projects globally from bases in Dubai, London, Spain, Morocco, China and Scotland.

These global adventures have created a diverse portfolio of projects generated whilst working on some of the industry’s most prestigious commissions. Niall has developed a deep understanding of what the term ‘sensitive design’ means often having to create design solutions that not only fit the natural landscape but also take account of local socio-cultural and economic conditions.

Through out his career Niall has worked with internationally recognised golf course design firms such as Harradine Golf, David McLay Kidd Golf Design and forming KimberGlen International based in Scotland.

Niall joined Lobb + Partners in 2026 and continues to design new golf courses at home and abroad with commercial awareness and golfer appeal at the core.
